Policies

Pets are accepted for grooming under the following policies.

  • Appointment times are estimated and we ask for an hour window before and after every appointment time. As a mobile service, our schedule is subject to interruptions and delays such as, but not limited to, refueling, traffic, weather, mechanical difficulties or spending extra time with an older, younger or difficult dog. The dog’s safety will NEVER be compromised by rushing to meet a schedule. We will contact you if we are running more than 15 min before or after your scheduled time. Our focus will always be on the pet in our care and we strive to offer individualized care to each and every one of our treasured clients.

  • The pet is fit and healthy. Senior and/or infirm pets will be at the owner's risk. Please let us know if there are any pre-existing conditions or concerns prior to your appointment. Grooming may expose pre-existing health\skin conditions for which K9 Shine Mobile Grooming LLC cannot be held liable. We do charge an additional fee if parasites are found.

  • The pet's rabies vaccine is up to date (as required by law) unless otherwise discussed. Proof is required prior to our arrival at first appointment. We do accept Titers in lieu of vaccination for pets that have experienced reactions.

  • We always work within the pet’s comfort level and make that the focus of each and every one of our appointments. Climate Controlled Salon, Orthopedic mats, Trach-Savers, Ear Protection, and Warm water are always available to promote this. We keep freeze dried beef treats on hand. If your dog has allergies, please provide their favorite treat for us to offer during the grooming process. If your pet is fearful of storms, please let us know and we will make every effort to schedule and reschedule, if needed.

  • We do NOT groom aggressive dogs. Aggressive dogs will be refused service and referred to a vet for full or partial sedate grooming for the safety of all.

  • We Do offer latchkey service after the initial appointment. A hidden key or door/garage code can be provided and we will lock up when we leave. Most of our latchkey clients come running when we arrive. If your pet is nervous or unsure about grooming, please confine them to a specific area.

  • We do NOT offer anal gland expression, as this should be performed by a licensed veterinarian or technician. Ear plucking will be evaluated on a case by case basis. We will NOT push a dog past its comfort level and will refer to a vet if extensive plucking is needed.

  • K9 Shine Mobile Grooming LLC puts the comfort and mental state of the pet above all else. We do NOT offer brush out services that include extensive de-matting. Spot shaving and full body shave downs will be performed when necessary. This may dramatically alter your pets appearance. Mats and pelted coats may expose pre-exsisting health and skin issues, increase the risk of injury during the grooming process, and leave your pet vulnerable to self injury post groom due to itching and head shaking. K9 Shine Mobile Grooming LLC cannot be held liable for prior neglect and the issues that may surface from it. Every bath and groom service includes nail trimming and ear cleaning so long as dog is willing

  • We require 2 or 4 week maintenance schedules for all haircut dogs. Dogs groomed on a regular schedule learn to enjoy and become comfortable with the process. Skin, coat, nails and ears all benefit from a minimum of monthly maintenance.

  • We require a level and safe place to park our Sprinter van for the duration of service. The majority of time, we are entirely self-contained. On occasion, access to a 20-amp outlet and water spigot may be necessary to provide service, access needs to be within 100’ of where we park the van.

  • In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize K9 Shine Mobile Grooming LLC to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.

  • We accept all major credit cards via Square and cash as payment. Payment is to be made at the time of service or within 24 hours of receiving invoice. Late payment will result in additional fees.

  • Cancellation and rescheduling of an appointment, by the client, requires a 48 hr notice to waive the FULL appointment fee. In the event of inclimate weather, a family emergency or any other uncontrollable circumstance, the groomer has the discretion to waive the fee within the 48 hr period. No Shows (when there is no communication that the pet will not be available when we arrive) will be invoiced at full appointment fee and required to prepay for any future services. Please make every effort to call/text and cancel or reschedule ahead of time when possible to avoid this.

  • We reserve the right to stop grooming at any point if it becomes unsafe for the pet or groomer. Owner will be responsible for the services charges even if services are not completed in full. We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason.
